What Real Estate Agents Can Learn from Celebrities

 May 6, 2015

Real estate as an industry is completely dependent on marketing.

The way a property is perceived by and portrayed to the public can make all the difference when it comes to generating offers and sales.

The same is true for agents who must make every effort to present themselves in a way that will attract clients.

However, no one is better at promoting an image or playing a role than celebrities, here’s what real estate agents can learn from them:

Celebs are Housing Trend Setters

It’s not just fashion.

Where and how celebrities live is a huge opportunity for real estate agents to find inspiration when it comes to identifying emerging trends in the marketplace.

Recently Variety magazine launched a blog named “dirt” that’s designed to cover the latest in celebrity real estate.

This is popular and relevant because of societies unquenchable thirst for all things celebrity on a daily basis.

This is why real estate agents should take notice.

If you are offering a property for sale then you could mention some aspects of a design that you noticed are similar to a celebrity home and then use it as a selling point or an ice breaker for discussion at a showing. For example, “this deck has floor to ceiling slide away glass doors like Julia Roberts’ Miami condo.”

Also, you could cover celebrity home news from your integrated blog in order to build relevant discussion that could lead to new clients.

Where Celebs Hang-out the Public Follows

Experienced commercial real estate agents are well aware of the power that the right celebrity appearance can have on a development.

When a celebrity makes an appearance at a new place it makes a huge impact on the public that has positive side effects for the property owner and if you’re the listing agent you also benefit.

Real estate agents who stand to make $50k or more on a million dollar commercial listing should take note.

Having a celebrity make an appearance may be worth the expense after all.

Especially if you have a tight marketing budget, the free publicity that having the right celebrity in town can bring is very difficult to calculate but will have lasting effects.
