Claim Your Real Estate Business’ Yelp Page

Claim Your Real Estate Business’ Yelp Page

 July 18, 2017

If you think Yelp is only for restaurants, department stores, and boutiques, think again. Yelp is for local business reviews, and your Real Estate business is certainly local. Reviews mean a lot in this day and age, and they can make or break your public image. You read reviews before purchasing an expensive product on Amazon. Shouldn’t you do the same before choosing a Real Estate Agent for what could be the largest purchase you will ever make? For many buyers, the answer is yes. Claim your Yelp page now so you can see what people are saying, interact with reviewers, and make sure your business is accurately represented.

Find Your Business

Go to biz.yelp.com and click the button that says “Claim your business.” Your business name may not come up immediately when you enter it. Because a customer may have set up a page for you, you need to do a thorough search. Try every possible spelling, any old names you’ve used, or “nicknames” your business is sometimes called.

Claim Your Business

If you find your business, claim it. Once you click “Claim,” you’ll be able to login with your Yelp account or create a new account. This allows you to access your business and make any necessary changes.

Verify Your Account

Part of the process to claim your business requires that you verify your business and account. Yelp wants to make sure your real estate company is being added legitimately as a verified and claimed business. After you enter your phone number, you’ll receive an automated phone call with a verification code. Enter that code in the Yelp website. You’re now verified.

Complete Your Profile

Now that you’re logged in and verified, it’s time to complete your profile. Remember, seeing you on Yelp could be someone’s first experience with your real estate company. Make sure all of your information is included and you stick with your branding. Add a logo and a few pictures. Enter your correct business information, including a phone number and/or email. Upload pictures of your office and other images that show off the type of business you run.

Use Your Yelp Page

Now that you’ve gone to the trouble to claim your Yelp page, you have access to free tools through Yelp. You can now respond to reviews publically or privately through direct message. You will be able to track how often your business is viewed online at Yelp. You can also add a link to your website and update your information as needed.

Promote Good Reviews

If you’re getting good reviews on Yelp, make sure they’re seen in other places. Add a free Yelp widget to your website so that visitors can see what other people think of your services as a real estate professional. Feel free to encourage happy customers to leave reviews, too. Not everyone will use Yelp, but for those who do, they can help bring more leads your way.

Yelp doesn’t require a lot of extra time but it can be a valuable tool in your real estate business. Ninety percent of people say that positive reviews can influence their decision, and 85 percent of people read up to 10 reviews before deciding if they can trust a company. Since so many people are already on Yelp, make it easier for them to leave a positive review that can help your business grow over time. Claim your business and give people another way to share how much they love you as their real estate agent.
