 July 9, 2014

As a real estate agent you are selling a valuable service that many people need.  However, In order to attract more sales and clients you’ll need to market yourself accordingly.

Before you can successfully sell your services you need to understand the meaning.  The word “market” is defined by Google as:

noun
A regular gathering of people for the purchase and sale of provisions, livestock, and other commodities.
“farmers going to market”

verb
Advertise or promote (something).
“the product was marketed under the name “aspirin.””
synonyms: sell, retail, vend, merchandise, trade, peddle, hawk; More

Here’s 3 tips on how to market yourself as a real estate agent:

#1 – Leverage your online presence

Lets face it people are obsessed with being online and there is no sign of this trend slowing down anytime soon.

From little kids to adults everywhere you go you see people constantly diddling on their “smart” phones.

It doesn’t matter if they’re at dinner, waiting on the bus, or even driving their cars people can’t stop going online for one thing or another.

This is your opportunity to leverage the features of your dynamic website and connect with people where they spend most of their time, ONLINE.

#2 – Target Your Message.

Focus on the property, the brand, or yourself?

This is the question that you’ll need to answer before you start your marketing activities.

What do you want your clients to remember most; your properties, your logo, or you?

For best results brand your name in your marketing instead of your company name as people connect and trust PEOPLE not companies so you’ll come out better being personable and using your real name online instead of branding gimmicks like “Condo Calvin”, “Albany Action Agents”etc.

#3 – BREAK NEWS

Educating your potential clients with useful information about the market is not only a great way to break the ice it’s also a very effective marketing tactic.

This builds up trust and people who use this information to make a decision about their home will be much more likely to contact you for help with selling or buying a home.

When they receive your market report that shows the neighbors just sold their home then they will be more likely to do the same and to hire the person that shared this useful information with them.
