Get More Leads With Saved Search Landing Pages

 February 28, 2018

If you’re looking for a new way to generate more traffic and more leads through your website, consider building some new landing pages.

What is a Landing Page?

A landing page is page of your website that can function as an entry point for new website visitors. Ideally, it’s a page that ranks for a valuable keyword in Google Search results. Your homepage might already rank for some important keywords, but you can’t target every keyword with a single page. Landing pages can help you target more keywords than you could feasibly target with a single-page of your website. A landing page can be almost any type of page, but the best ones satisfy a need that is described by the targeted search keyword. If the search phrase is a question, provide an answer. If the search phrase is something like “Best Sacramento Realtor”, build a landing page that explains why you are the best Sacramento Realtor (your “about me” page could work well for this).

Saved Search Landing Pages

Lets face it. In this day and age, home buyers don’t start their home search by seeking out a Realtor. They start by looking for homes. They want to see what’s on the market, they want to get a feel for local prices, and they want to look at pictures. If they are just beginning to shop around, they probably don’t know much about how buying a home works. And why should they? They have no experience with these things. But if you can get these folks to use your website for their home searching needs, they are one step closer to being your clients. You can get these people to your website with saved search pages. Saved search pages show a set of homes matching the search criteria implied by the targeted search phrase (obviously, you need a website with IDX in order to present this kind of listing information). Saved search pages are designed to rank in search engines for home search keywords such as…

  • homes for sale in sacramento
  • folsom ca houses for sale
  • condos and townhomes in fair oaks

Target the long tail

Obviously, you’re not going to outrank Zillow and Realtor.com for some search phrases, but you CAN outrank them for the more obscure (aka “long tail”) search phrases. For example, some people include their budget or price range when they type in their google search like this…

  • homes for sale in sacramento under 300,000
  • folsom ca houses for sale 200,000 to 300,000
  • affordable condos and townhomes in fair oaks

And some people will include home features in their search like this…

  • homes with pools in sacramento
  • waterfront homes in folsom ca
  • houses with large lots in fair oaks ca

If you can get inside the mind of homebuyers in your local market, you can start building pages that rank for the more common search terms. And you don’t have to be a mind reader – just look at the search history records on your website to find out what specific price ranges and desirable features are most commonly searched for. If you have an iHOUSE Elite website, this information is easily accessible. If you don’t, maybe it’s time to try iHOUSEweb 😉
